The coloring of the plane relies on the standard
hue-saturation-brightness color wheel
The positive real axis is along the red direction. The positive
imaginary axis is along the green direction.
Each point in the domain is colored according to where it will
end up on the color wheel after plugging it into the function. An
extra dimension of brightness indicates magnitude. Brighter, more
washed-out colors indicate places where the output of the function
has large magnitude. (Wikipedia)
