NXT Brick Download

This window is for downloading firmware to the NXT. Usually you only have to download firmware to the NXT once or whenever ROBOTC has been upgraded.

If you write programs using both ROBOTC and NXT-G, then you will have to redownload firmware when you switch types. NXT-G and ROBOTC have different firmware files!

List of NXT Bricks

The table on the top left of the window contains a list of the NXTs that are powered on and connected via USB to the PC.

The list is initially populated when the window is opened by scanning all USB devices connected to the PC to see if they are NXT bricks. There is a button to refresh the list at any time.

Buttons

Button	Action Performed
Refresh List	This button refreshes the list of NXTs.
Rename NXT	This button will open a window allowing you to rename the selected NXT brick.
F/W Download	Pressing this button will download firmware to the selected NXT. It will open a window where you select the firmware file to download. It may take 30 to 60 seconds to download firmware to the NXT.
