NXT Link Setup

Help document for the ROBOT Brick Link Selection window. The window is used to configure the default NXT brick to use for connection. This window is for advanced users with access to multiple NXTs. If you just have a single NXT, then ROBOTC will automatically discover the NXT and use it.

This portion of the window provides a list of all the NXTs that are currently connected via USB cable to the PC. The list contains both the “friendly” name and the detailed resource address.

After you have selected a NXT brick from this list, then the two buttons are enabled. The buttons are in this portion of the window because they represent functions that can only be performed when the NXT is connected via a USB link.

This portion of the screen contains a list of the NXT devices that were found via a Bluetooth search. Bluetooth searching takes 15 to 30 seconds and is only performed if the “Include Bluetooth in Brick Search” checkmark is enabled.

The “Remove Pairing” button is an advanced feature that is normally not required. There are cases where the PC and NXT get out of synchronization over the list of Bluettoth devices and their state. Remove pairing willing remove a “paired connection” status that is set up and remembered by both devices whenever a connection is made. When devices are paired, then password does not have to be entered to make a connection.

This portion of the screen contains a chronological list of the various connections that have been made between the PC and one or more NXTs.
